Two ways to clear
You can clear at the sea port (Karachi Port or Port Qasim) and truck the goods to your city, or move the container under bond to a dry port near you and clear there.
Clearing at Karachi
- Faster release when documents are ready
- Fewer movements for the container
- Good if your customer or warehouse is in or near Karachi
Clearing at a dry port
- Duty and clearance happen near your city, which can be handy for importers in Lahore, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Multan, Islamabad or Peshawar
- Container travels under bond, so a transshipment permit is needed
- Check dry port charges and the line’s acceptance
